Reuben passed away on the 21st of August 2012 from an aggressive brain tumour whilst on a family holiday in Devon.

His mummy promised him that his life would not be in vain and she would be a legacy in his name.

After all, each life, no matter how brief, can change a little part of our world.

The family were committed to donating Reuben’s organs, to save others.  Unable to do this, his mummy created something special, and just 2 days after losing Reuben, ‘Reuben’s Retreat’ was born.

It was to be a sanctuary, a place where families with complexly poorly children could holiday, a place of comfort, peace and tranquillity, a place where fun and memories could be made.

The family had the opportunity to make fantastic and beautiful memories with Reuben in his short life and wanted to gift this opportunity to others.

Later, when planning Reuben’s memorial, it was decided that the charity would also support families after the loss of a child.

4Louis works across the country to support anyone affected by miscarriage, stillbirth, and the death of a baby or child. We understand the pain and heartbreak that families go through and are dedicated to providing support and comfort during this difficult time.

We provide memory boxes filled with keepsakes and mementos to help families create lasting memories of their loved one. We also provide useful tools, equipment, and training free of charge to hospital units, hospices, and other professionals who work with grieving families.

We understand that every family's journey is unique, and we strive to improve the services given to families who have lost a baby or child. We want to make sure that no family has to go through this alone.

Angels United was formed in 2020 by 13 dads from different walks of lives and backgrounds but all had one thing in common, they had suffered the heartbreak of losing a baby or child at any age or stage of pregnancy. The 13 cofounders came together with an idea to use their shared experience to help others and founded Angels United FC with the idea of using the power of football to break the silence surrounding baby and child loss while giving dads and other family members a safe space to talk and support each other.

Angels United is aimed at supporting families who have lost a baby or child at any age or stage of pregnancy. We want all people from different backgrounds, cultures, religions to feel that they can approach us with confidence when they are looking for that something positive in a time of darkness.
